Highland Peak is a stunning penthouse apartment in a brand new development in the centre of Les Gets. It comfortably sleeps up to 8 adults and 4 children and has all the luxury features you could want, including a bar area with pool table, steam room and a large terrace with enviable views of the pistes, a sauna and a hot tub.
The owners of Highland Peak had spent many memorable ski holidays in Les Gets, so they were in no doubt that it was exactly where they wanted to have a place of their own. A close friend and business partner already had an amazing chalet in the village, which they had enjoyed on numerous occasions, and when they were told about the new Les Sources du Chery development they just knew it would be perfect.
Location is obviously a key consideration with any property purchase and Highland Peak couldn’t be better situated, right in the village, close to all the restaurants and bars, and just a five-minute walk in ski boots from the Chavannes lift, taking you right up into the Portes du Soleil. It’s an equally short walk to the Mont Chery lift, which is our favourite place to start skiing on a bluebird day.
The apartment covers 240m2 set over two floors and comfortably sleeps eight adults in four large double rooms, plus four children in two single beds and a double sofa bed. There is one further sofa bed, so a maximum capacity of 14 is possible, if required. There are three dedicated underground parking spaces – two in a locked garage – and a boot room in the basement with heated wardrobes and boot racks.
In terms of luxury facilities, Highland Peak is certainly not found wanting. Chill out in the bar area with a beer and a few games of pool, or soothe those aching muscles in the hot tub or sauna while taking in the sunset from the large terrace. There’s also a well-equipped kitchen, an indoor steam room and a comfortable lounge with large-screen TV with Netflix and Sky News. If that’s not enough, you can also use the facilities downstairs in the Les Sources du Chery spa for a fee (reduced rate for Highland Peak guests, payable locally). There are two large pools, a kids pool, two large hot tubs and various treatment rooms and, being in the same building, you can take the lift down from the apartment in your robe and slippers!
We think that Highland Peak is an exciting addition to our self-catered portfolio and is the perfect base from which to explore the picturesque village of Les Gets and the vast ski domain of the Portes du Soleil. But why is a luxury ski apartment in France named after the biggest mountain in Scotland? Well, the residence is a celebration of the “Auld Alliance” and the friendship between the French owner and his Scottish business partner.
The terrace at Highland Peak offers superb views across town to the Chavannes lift. It’s the perfect place to unwind and enjoy a drink while watching the sun set as the last few skiers make their way back down. There’s also a large hot tub and a sauna, perfect for soothing those aching legs.
The bar at Highland Peak is fully-equipped with a wine fridge and ice machine. It’s the ideal place to chill out after the sun has gone down and it’s too cold to enjoy the terrace. Warm up by the fire before challenging all comers to a few frames of pool.
If you are looking to pamper those aching muscles after a day on the pistes, Highland Peak has all the toys you could wish for. There’s a good-sized hot tub at one end of the large terrace and a proper sauna at the other. Step inside and you will find an ultra-modern steam room. If that’s not enough, why not treat yourself to an afternoon at the Les Sources du Chery spa downstairs? There you can enjoy two swimming pools (plus one for the kids), two large hot tubs and various massage/treatment rooms. You can even take the elevator down from the apartment while in your robe and slippers!
